Wabaunsee County Historical Society received a grant to put together play to draw people to the museum.
With the work of some wonderful women, children were given options of historical figures.
The kids got to choose which one interested them.
They had to research their character and develop an informational skit which was performed numerous times one day as groups of people were touring the museum.
I local woman volunteered to pick up Brooke and others and take to Alma to the museum.
This is where they got their costumes and worked on their performances.
A tour guide would lead a small crowd through the museum with a 'historical figure' interrupting the tour to tell us their tale. It was very entertaining was well as impressive that these young children
not only performed in front of complete strangers but accurately recited the bio of their character.
Brooke's character (a man) was an archeologist.
She told about indian artifacts and explained properties of flint as we are in the Gateway of the Flint Hills.
Once again in true Brooke fashion we had absolutely no idea what to expect when we got there.
We never once heard here rehearse and yet she did her presentation flawlessly.
She was so excited about this project the first night she came home and hit the computer immediately
to research her character.

Some of these kids really got into this. It was a lot of fun.
